Every June in Brandon, FL, two candidates for Honorary Mayor of Brandon host fundraisers to raise money for their chosen charities, to hopefully earn the title of Honorary Mayor of Brandon.
During the month of June both candidates will host various fundraisers to collect money to benefit their charities. The funds are then collected by the Community Roundtable, which organizes the fourth of July Parade in Brandon, as well as Brandon’s Honorary Mayor’s race. On July fourth, whichever candidate has raised the most money for their non-profit(s) will be declared Brandon’s new Honorary Mayor.
Our friend Gay Lynn Love, who owns Love’s Tire and Service Center along with her Husband Scott, is holding fundraisers for Type 1 diabetes, which her daughter has, as well as the American Cancer Society and the Brandon Family YMCA, who is sponsoring her.
We were happy to make a little time for the cause and go to Love’s Tire and Service Center to take some photographs of Gay Lynn with some of her friends and family, who suffer from Type 1 diabetes.
If you live in Brandon or Valrico, you might see their smiling faces on flyers or posters with info about The Events for Love, which are the fundraisers for Gay Lynn’s charities.
